Statement of Values
We, the department of History of Consciousness, express our strong commitment to the core values of mutual respect, equality, and openness in our relations with one another and our students. We are dedicated to fostering and maintaining a free and inclusive community that is distinguished by intellectual and cultural pluralism and experimentation. We view our commitments to racial, ethnic, sexual, gender and faith-based equity as central to the vitality of this community. We look forward to thinking together, learning from one another, teaching, writing, and conducting research together as members of an interdisciplinary department with a unique and influential legacy in the greater humanities.
